Los Cimarrones de la Bomba

WHAT WE OFFER

Our band is a talented mix of educators in K-12 and university settings, as well as some of the leading performers representing the new generation of Bomberos upholding the tradition. We foster pride in our African ancestry through the following activities. Our rates vary depending on duration of event, waiting time, distance traveled, and combination of services required.

Assembly Presentations and Performances

6-13 members of our company can bless your school or nightclub with singing, dancing, and drumming for 45-minute sets. These presentations can be educational and/or entertaining, depending on the needs of the venue.

Lectures & Demonstrations

These lecture demonstrations, lasting between 30 minutes to two hours, include a single speaker with or without the entire company. Lecture topics include the history of Bomba, Spiritual traditions within Afro-Puerto Rican Music, the African presence in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, Cultural exchanges between Puerto Rico and other Caribbean Islands, Words as Healing Messages within Bomba, Kongo Traditional Practices Within Puerto Rico, Cultural Pride and Community Upliftment through Bomba, etc.
